Aura Ordóñez graduated from Florida International University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. During her undergraduate career, she forged her passion for public policy with legislative affairs as a public affairs intern in Rockville, Maryland for Chesapeake Public Strategies - where she worked on strategic approaches to coalition building and government affairs. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has working proficiency in French. While working on her Master’s degree, she is a current intern at HEAR Congo; a non-profit tailored to giving Congolese women social and economic autonomy through skills and equal access education. Her interests include incorporating gender equality into governance and national planning, nontraditional security, foreign policy, public affairs, and women’s leadership and political participation.
