Michael is the Aviation Security Administrator at Miami International Airport where he reports directly to the Director of Public Safety and Security. In this role, he provides three critical services: project development, assessment and execution; implementation of multi-agency operations and liaising; and the training of security personnel. Additionally, Michael leverages his expertise and tireless work ethic to identify vulnerabilities and evaluate the constantly evolving threat environment, working together with over a dozen partner agencies to provide the best experience possible for MIA’s passengers and employees while ensuring their safety and security.
Prior to joining MIA, Michael served 5 years in the United States Army as a Human Intelligence Collector where he utilized his training and skills in source operations, intelligence analysis and counter intelligence operations. He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where his team played a critical role in the training and advising of coalition forces. As a Noncommissioned Officer, Michael developed the skills necessary to lead diverse teams in the most challenging environments where stakes are at their highest.
Michael has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Florida International University and graduated from the esteemed Defense Language Institute where he specialized in Persian Farsi and Iranian culture, government, and military. Currently, he is pursuing a Global Affairs master’s degree from Florida International University, specializing in globalization and security.
